Topic of discussion

As designers, we often find that our proposals and contributions are not understood, if not disapproved of. It seems as if we have to constantly fight for our place, and justify the contribution of our profession. We admit that we are different. In fact, we wear this label with pride.

But is our work really that specific?

Isn't it the best way to put it in a business context?

Do we have to keep fighting?

Would a different approach have borne more fruit?

Is the business environment an impossibly complex puzzle?

Or are design methods also effective with stakeholders, not just users?

This afternoon's session will discuss why we need to wear different hats to engage with stakeholders successfully. We will discuss what these different hats are, and when to wear one of them, with our new mentor Nina Jurcic, a design manager with experience in international, multi-disciplinary teams, currently living and working in Berlin.
